Abstract

This research is a qualitative research. Data collection was carried out using questionnaires and documentation. The research subjects were students of the English Education Department at the Universitas Muhammadiyah Lampung in semesters 2nd and 4th of 10 participants. This research utilize purposive sampling. This study aims to describe students' perceptions of using the zoom application in the pandemic era.

Data collection was carried out using questionnaires and student learning student speaking scores as documentation. Questionnaires were distributed through the Google form which was distributed through WhatsApp. The results of the analysis of the data obtained by the researcher showed that students strongly agreed, showing a positive response of 23.3% using the zoom meeting application.

Students strongly agree of 43.3% that zoom meetings help students in distance learning. 10% of students disagree while 30% of students are natural. Based on the students' speaking scores, it shows that zoom meetings can increase speaking skills.
