Stunting is a condition experienced by children aged 0-60 months where
the results of measuring the child's height show that the child's height and age do
not meet standards. Stunting can cause problems with a child's growth and
development, hamper cognitive and motor development, metabolic disorders, and
can cause a child's body and body size to be less than optimal. PekonTapak Siring,
Sukau District, West Lampung Regency, has a total of 278 children under five,
there are 16 children under five who are affected by stunting in 2023. As for
handling the number of stunting in PekonTapak Siring, one of the contributions
from posyandu cadres. Posyandu has the task of providing education about
parenting patterns for toddlers so that children grow up healthy, active and
responsive, one of which is handling stunting.
This research aims to find out how the Communication Strategy for
Stunting Prevention in Pekon Tapak Siring, Sukau District, West Lampung
Regency in 2023 and researchers use descriptive qualitative methods using
approaches, data collection methods, observation, interviews and documentation,
to describe in detail according to the circumstances. actually on the object of
research.
The results of this research indicate that the Communication Strategy for
Stunting Prevention in Pekon Tapak Siring, Sukau District, West Lampung
Regency, uses the 5W+1H communication strategy, but discussions between
posyandu cadres should be improved, due to the lack of special attention to
toddlers affected by stunting and the lack of infrastructure development in Pekon
Tapak. Siring.
